A MESSAGE FROM JACKIE’S PLACE -
We miss you High Point!
The year 2020 has been a challenging time for all of us with the global pandemic and heartbreaking racial injustice but we pray that you are all well and taking care of yourselves during these unprecedented times.
Along with countless other businesses, Jackie’s Place has remained closed since the number of COVID-19 cases made social distancing necessary. Jackie’s Place continues to monitor the governor’s updates and other data about COVID-19 levels in North Carolina and in Guilford County specifically.
On August 5th, Governor Cooper issued his latest update about which businesses can re-open and he has indicated that NC will remain in its Safer at Home Phase 2 for five more weeks, or through September 11. Our business is unique in that it is not technically a bar, but it contains a bar and is a venue for entertainment and social activities. For that reason, we consider ourselves under the category of businesses that would not re-open until other bars and entertainment venues open.
Given the extension of Phase 2 in NC, we do not have plans to re-open until these types of venues have been given clearance. Even once the state enters Phase 3, we will closely consider the risk to our clients, staff and community before re-opening our venue. Although we are hopeful, with the situation here remaining as serious as it currently is, we are prepared to be on pause throughout the fall and into the winter if necessary.
We greatly miss all of you but we stand with our governor and community in supporting the health and safety of all North Carolinians. We will still be here on the other side of this and look forward to a time when we can all gather together again. In the meantime, please follow the guidelines for protecting yourself and others from COVID-19. Stay safe and be well!!
